My Dad, the All Black. By Sandy McKay
Will is 12 years old and an outstanding rugby player. Everyone says that he gets his talent from his All Black father. After Will’s rugby team lose a game he wonders if he plays rugby because he loves the game or because everyone says he should? When Will’s Granddad dies, Will meets his Uncle Jim. Why has Jim stayed away from Will and his Mum for so long?
This is a good book because it tells you lots of facts about rugby and how it originated, and also information about the 1999 Rugby World cup. I think that this book would be good for children between the ages of 9-12
